Dining
Set in a former glass factory in the village of Langham, North Norfolk, The Harper is a boutique spa hotel with an indoor pool, spa facilities, and an on-site restaurant. Rooms at The Harper include family rooms with private bathrooms, air-conditioning, a work desk, free WiFi, and a seating area. The indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, spa and wellness centre, and games room are open to guests, and bicycles can be rented on site. The restaurant at The Harper serves European cuisine with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, and breakfast includes continental, buffet, and full English/Irish selections. Kids' meals, room service, packed lunches, and special diet menus are available, and every room has a tea/coffee maker. Free parking, luggage storage, daily housekeeping, and a 24-hour front desk are provided. Blickling Hall is 25 km away, Holkham Hall is 15 km away, and Norwich International Airport is 41 km away; Bishops Boats and Shell Museum are nearby. The building retains many of its original features, and the outdoor spaces include a garden and an enclosed courtyard. The property sits in a quiet village, with Holt, Sheringham, Cromer, Wells and Sandringham as nearby destinations.
Cons
Pool, sauna, and hot tub access is limited to one 30-minute private slot per day and must be booked in advance.
The rural location means the hotel is not within walking distance of many shops or restaurants, so a car is useful.
“The Harper distinguishes itself with an exceptional staff, whose attentiveness truly elevates the guest experience across all areas, from reception to housekeeping. Its spa facilities are a notable highlight, offering genuinely restorative treatments and a tranquil swimming pool. Coupled with large, comfortable rooms and a restaurant that delivers consistently good meals, it presents a well-rounded and appealing stay.”
